Vishwakarma University situated in Pune was established on 3 May 2017 and founded by Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust (BRACT). The first educational venture by BRACT was Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) which was established in 1983. Now, there have been 17 Educational institutes comprising of engineering, management, marine, science, schools and value-added programs with 17,000 student enrollments and more than 1500 full-time employees.
