With an aim to impart the finest quality education to its students, the Adamas University is located in Barasat, 13 km away from Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. The university was established in 2014 by Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust (SKRMT) after the West Bengal government passed “The Adamas University Act” in 2014. With the motto of "Pursuing Excellence", Adamas University, having a green campus ranging over 100 acres, is also the first university training for both corporate and government jobs simultaneously. The university also entertains some international students.

The Adamas University offers a wide range of courses which include B.Tech, M.tech, MBA, LLB, B.Sc., M.Sc., B.A., Ph.D., among many other courses. Adamas is a UGC recognized university under section 22 of UGC Act, 1956. The university also has the approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Adamas University has also signed collaborations with more than 30 universities in 13 different countries including Argentina, China, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine and continuously organizes student exchange programs. The university is further planning to do collaborations with universities in Canada, UK, USA, and many others. The University also has an International Academic Advisory Board (IAAB) with members from 10 countries.
